To provide help to families which lost their earning member during the November 1984 Carnage and who have not been able to come u in their life even after 22 years of long struggle and who have not been able to attain the status which they were enjoying in 1984.  The education and studies of children of these families have suffered a serious set back due to the immense mental suffering and trauma after 1984 carnage.  As a result, they have not been able to pursue their education or do well in their lives.  Most of them wish that at least their next generation studies in good schools and receives the best education possible.  However, they have no means and cannot afford to pay the fees of good schools.  At the initiative of Sardar Patwant Singh, eminent wirter, Gyan Sewa Trust has started a project of giving scholarship to the children, who are serious about their studies and wish

An Example:
I want to attain the status, which my grandparents enjoyed in 1984, when they were killed during the November 1984 anti-Sikh carnage.  My grandfather, grandmother, uncle and grandfather’s brother, all four adult members of the family were brutally killed on 1.11.1984.  My grandfather had a small factory in Anand Parbhat, Karol Bagh and had his own house in East Delhi.  My mother, who was only 12 years of age at that time, was the eldest of the survivors in the family.  At the age of 12 years, she had to play the role of a mother to her three younger sisters.  She brought them up and married them.  As a result of the trauma and sufferings, my mother had two heart attacks at the age of 34 years.

I want to study and accomplish a good academic record and attain the same status, which my family would have enjoyed if my grandparents were not killed.  After all, what was their fault, it was just that they were Sikhs.

Gyan Sewa Trust is helping me in fulfilling my dream.  Gyan Sewa Trust has admitted me to a public school and has given me scholarship to pay the fees.
