Education is wealth. Those who are deprived of educational resources are expected to compete with those to whom excellent educational resources are available. These deprived students actually do not lag behind in talent and other capabilities, but in having access to good educational resources.

As one of the objectives of the Trust, the endeavour of the Trust is to check this disparity and provide equal access to all the disadvantaged sections to enable them to compete with those, who

have excellent educational resources and to make their place in the world. Education being the most powerful tool, every one needs to keep pace with the fast moving world.

Unfortunately, the importance of education has been diminishing amongst the Sikh community and the people of Punjab over the years. The standard of education is going down in the Punjab, while it is improving immensely in the rest of the country and the world.

The Punjab, at one stage, used to rank number two in literacy level and is now relegated to 7th place in India. Amongst the children of the age group of 6 –14, the next generation, the literacy level in Punjab is just 59%, which is below the average literacy level of India i.e. 65%. Punjab stands at number 23.

The situation is emergent and the decline in literacy level needs to be checked and immediate steps have to be taken to improve the situation. The endeavour of the Trust is to solicit top most teachers from Delhi to villages, to create an environment, where the rural-masses realize the importance of education.
