Rural
Talent Project
In
the recent era, where education is wealth, those
who have been deprived of educational resources
are expected to compete with those to whom excellent
educational resources are available. These deprived
students do not lag behind in talent, but in having
access to educational resources.
The
endeavour of the Trust is to check this disparity
and provide equal access to all the disadvantaged
sections to enable them to compete with those,
who have excellent educational resources and to
make their place in the world. In the present
times, education is the most powerful tool for
every one to keep pace with the world.
Unfortunately,
the significance of education is diminishing amongst
the Sikh community and the people of Punjab. The
standard of education is going down in Punjab,
while it is improving immensely in the rest of
the country and the world.
Punjab,
at one stage, used to rank number 2 in literary
level and is now relegated to 7th place in India.
Amongst the children of the age group of 6 –
14, the next generation, the literacy level in
Punjab is just 54%, which is below the average
literacy level of India i.e. 65%. Punjab stands
number 23.
The situation is emergent and the decline needs
to be checked and immediate steps have to be taken
to improve the situation. The endeavour of the
Trust is to take top most teachers from Delhi
to villages, to create an atmosphere, where the
people realize the importance of education.
